The New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF or Cadet Forces) is a voluntary, uniformed youth organisation which provides military-style personal development, leadership and adventure based training to young people aged between 13 and 19. The organisation is not part of the NZDF but is supported and maintained under the direction of the Chief of Defence Force. NZCF are supported by NZDF in partnership with community support organisations; this support is outlined in the NZCF Charter of Support.
