The New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF or Cadet Forces) is a voluntary, uniformed organisation which provides military-style leadership, personal development opportunities and adventure based training to youth aged between 13 and 19 years old. The organisation is not part of the NZDF but is maintained under the direction of the Chief of Defence Force. NZCF are supported by NZDF in partnership with community support organisations; the relevant support is outlined in the NZCF Charter of Support.
