About the Squadron
16 Squadron (City of Tauranga) Air Training Corps was formed in 1971 and held its first parade in 1972.
The unit was granted freedom of the city in September 1996.
16 Squadron has for many years prided itself on having one of the best shooting teams in Cadet Forces.
We have, in previous years held all the trophies available to them, including Commonwealth Medals.
16 Squadron have over the years turned out a number of outstanding citizens, both in the military and civilian worlds.
